Lukasz Drygas, de l'idée à la création

[Automatic Translation]

Monday, June 11, 2017, I spoke with Lukasz Drygas. He is responsible for everything related to the art of Grands Voisins. Our first collaboration was the collage of the series Why you wet yourself in fall 2016.

Lukasz's ideas have strength. I've seen several of his staff tell me, "I'm __ for Lukasz. "I don't need any further explanation. Lukasz's authority comes simply from the quality of his ideas, full of common sense. His reputation for organizing artistic events is well established.

Our meeting had been scheduled for more than two weeks. The subject was similar to that of Henry Roy: what to do about the future of the extension of the 4th eye photo studio?

Lukasz had already given me several ideas that I have not (yet) implemented. For example, to find funding for the printing of artistic series made between photographers, Lukasz suggested that I approach hotels. This would involve asking them to fund the printing and frames for the series, in two copies: one for the studio and one for the hotel.

We also talked about how to make frames at the Hack Center. Lukasz also suggested that we incorporate the Rad Studio into the communication of the Shared Workshops.

It was nice to hear these good ideas, moreover, given with a smile and a Polish accent.

On June 11, the idea was to consider how to produce one studio photo per day, at a low price, that is, to have at least one paying client per day. My ambition is for the studio to run at 80% capacity and for any fourth-eye photographer to “come true”.

We also explored the idea of one studio shot per day. I could ask for a payment of 20 euros for the shooting and the realization of the photos in low resolution with a watermark, then a little more for the other formats desired by the client (e). This could amount to 1 euro for the first customer of the day. You should also remember to request an image discharge.

Another idea would be to set up fixed hours and organization for the studio. Provide a welcoming and friendly place for people traveling with the intention of having their picture taken. Also plan to make flyers with invitations, etc.

I also told Lukasz about my studio photo project with the neighbors.

We talked a bit about the concept of free pricing which is sometimes used by Big Neighbors. Lukasz is deeply opposed to this when it comes to the remuneration of artists, the "free price" then taking the form of a disguised gratuity.

For Lukasz, the art of photography depends on the eye of the photographer. Some would have it when others would not. Then we talked about the intricacies of photography with artificial light. Lukasz is also a screenshot photographer on his computer.

Finally, I showed Lukasz my "Sound photo" works. He was delighted. I will therefore consider exhibiting my production in the art exhibition space, "L’annexe".
